[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text woodmart_inline=”no” text_larger=”no”]Superdelic\u2122 (Trial Hop \u2022 NZH-102) is a triploid variety (cultivar) that was crossed by Dr. Ron Beatson in 2012 as part of the breeding program in partnership with Plant and Food Research.<\/p>\n

Having achieved good results in small plot trials and showing red fruit sensory attributes in early brewing trials, it was quickly transferred by the growers’ committee to the NZ Hops trial farm in 2017. It has shown excellent field performance with a vigorous growth pattern, good resistance to mite damage and high yield. <\/p>\n

This exceptional hop allows for more fun than few others! With characteristics of red fruits, candy, citrus and tropical fruits, it offers brewers something totally different to use in their recipes. <\/p>\n

“In a Hazy IPA, it revealed its notes of ripe mango, sweet berries and citrus. The Superdelic also showed unique performance, with great biotransformation properties resulting from dry hopping during active fermentation. It’s an incredible addition to our brewery. We were lucky to be among the first to try it,” says Mike Sutherland, director of Sawmill Brewery.<\/p>\n

This is a versatile hop that can be used as a standalone addition and exhibits excellent synergies when combined with other hops. It pairs well with Citra, Simcoe, Nelson Sauvin<\/a> , Motueka<\/a> , and Riwaka. <\/p>\n
