[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text woodmart_inline=”no” text_larger=”no”]Brewers Gold—or brewers’ gold, no less—is the parent of half a dozen other hops on the market, such as Galena, Nugget, and Centennial. It was developed in England and released in… 1919! The super alpha hops developed later have somewhat overshadowed it, but it remains a historic and fascinating hop, especially useful at the end of the boil.

It is also very interesting to grow because it is quite resistant to diseases and pests, and it’s a real plus in organic farming! Not to mention that it offers a beautiful range of flavors, not only bitter as mentioned, but also aromatic.

Finally, note that for a hop that’s quite “fruity,” it delivers a pronounced bitterness! Perfect for a single-hop Pale Ale, for example 😉
