Founded in 1912, the LPO is the leading nature conservation association in France. It is also the official French representative of BirdLife International, a global alliance of more than 120 associations worldwide.

Know and Protect Species

Awareness

•National bird surveys to guide conservation actions and public policies.

•Citizen science programs such as “Faune France”, “Birds of the gardens” or “Mission hérisson”.

Protective actions

•Species conservation programs and reintroduction of endangered birds.

•Partnerships to reduce the impacts of developments on wildlife and biodiversity in general.

Activist actions

• Advocacy and implementation of actions favorable to endangered species.

•Actions to respect protected species and fight against poaching or hunting abuses.

Assistance actions

•Welcoming thousands of animals in distress into its rescue centers and mobile care units.

•LPO Refuges: 1st network of ecological gardens in France intended for individuals, schools or companies, communities committed to a concrete approach to nature protection.

•Actions aimed at stakeholders in planning and urban development for better integration of biodiversity in the city and on buildings.
