How is UNICEF helping children and families in Ukraine?
UNICEF is working tirelessly to scale up its critical child survival programmes. These include
- Increase efforts to meet the vital and growing needs of the population in different sectors (drinking water, health, education and protection);
- Pre-position health and hygiene kits and emergency school supplies as close as possible to the communities bordering the confrontation line;
- Work with municipalities to ensure immediate care for children and families in need;
- Support mobile teams providing psychosocial support to children traumatised by chronic insecurity;
- Continue urgent efforts to combat the COVID-19 epidemic, including working with municipalities to increase vaccination rates against the disease and increasing awareness and capacity-building efforts.
