Presentation of Oxfam France

Oxfam France is an association under the French law of 1901 which is committed to a fairer world, by fighting against the root causes of poverty and inequality, violence, and by ensuring that the fundamental human rights of all people are respected. The association leads campaigns of citizen mobilization and pressure on political leaders.

Oxfam France is part of the international Oxfam confederation composed of 21 affiliates operating in more than 60 countries. This confederation is recognized for its emergency aid interventions and the implementation of long-term development programs, particularly in access to drinking water, sanitation and food.

Oxfam France has more than 500 volunteers who are involved on a daily basis in our local groups and solidarity stores.

The growth of inequality in the world

Did you know that the richest 1% of the world's population has as much wealth as the rest of humanity? Or that the richest 10% of the planet are responsible for more than half of the world's greenhouse gas emissions without necessarily suffering the consequences?

Acting on the causes of poverty

For an effective fight against poverty, Oxfam does not only provide support to the most vulnerable people. In-depth analyses are also produced to explain what allows these inequalities (taxation, distribution of wealth, climate change, etc.). Long-term solutions are thus proposed and defended to decision-makers.
