Callista I will drink your chalice.

“The aromas of red fruits are very volatile, so it's more difficult to get them in beer... but not impossible!”

To fully enjoy these aromas, I recommend:

  • A DH during storage, as cold as possible, for at least 5 days, to bring out the fruit aromas and avoid any vegetal notes.

Callista is a relatively new hop that was developed a decade ago at the Hop Research Center in Hüll as part of the research for the development of aroma varieties.

It is a descendant of the Hallertau Tradition and a Huell male. The word " Callista " can have different meanings, but in Greek it means "the most beautiful" ;-). Due to a low cohumulone content, Callista will provide a smooth and balanced bitterness.

  • Beta: 5 - 10%.
  • Cohumulone: 15 - 21%.

Possible substitutes: This hop is quite unique

Type of hops: Aromatic Form: Pellets
