It was named after the Latin adjective Album which means "high", "elevated", "above" Yes, just that! And it lives up to its name, it is one of the hops with the biggest cones on the vines and is one of the varieties with the highest levels of chemical compounds(see for example the oils!!!). Its high oils and equally high alphas make it an incredible hop for bittering or flavouring your brews. Limit global warming**.
*Hops are subject to the same diseases as vines. As a result, non-organic cultivation can lead to multiple treatments (using synthetic products in particular), which are detrimental to biodiversity in the soil and in the vicinity of hop fields. Organic farming preserves soil life, insects, birds, etc. - in short, biodiversity.
**Organic hop growing favors the use of compost and other fertilizers of natural origin. This results in a high concentration of carbon in the soil. Less CO2 in the air = less warming of the atmosphere.
