Description : Altus™ hops are a descendant of Apollo and Wye Target and were developed in the Yakima Valley. They were named after the Latin adjective Album , meaning “high,” “high,” or “above.” Yes, you read that right! And it lives up to its name; it’s one of the hops with the largest cones on its vines and is among the varieties with the highest levels of chemical compounds ( see, for example, the oils! ). Its high oil and alpha acid content make it an incredible hop for bittering or flavoring your brews. It works wonderfully in very malty beers or, conversely, in beers seeking maximum freshness. Without a doubt, with Altus™, we enter a new world of hops 😉

Hops are susceptible to the same diseases as grapevines. Therefore, non-organic cultivation can involve multiple treatments (including synthetic products) that harm biodiversity in the soil and around hop fields. Organic farming preserves soil life, insects, birds, and other biodiversity.

Organic hop cultivation prioritizes the use of compost and other natural fertilizers. This results in a high concentration of carbon in the soil. Less CO2 in the air means less global warming.
