Phoenix originated in the United Kingdom, where it was developed in the early 1990s by Wye College. Initially, it was intended to replace Challenger, which suffered from numerous diseases. Today, both are available on the market, and that’s a good thing!
Characteristics: Spices, earth. Quite a lot of spice on the nose and palate. A pleasant, mild bitterness.
Uses: Porter, Stout, English Ales, IPA

- Beta: 3 – 5.5%
- Cohumulone: 23-33%
