We support JUST DIGGIT

I've been following their actions for a while now and think it's great, so it was time to give them our support. Here's the story
Who is JUST DIGGIT
And how does Justdiggit help combat CO₂ emissions and cool the planet?
"Justdiggit is a Dutch foundation whose aim is to restore degraded ecosystems by developing, initiating and co-financing large-scale landscape restoration programs in Africa. Our regreening projects help to restore soil water balance and revitalize vegetation, with a positive impact on local and regional climate, increased food and water security, and the promotion of biodiversity in project areas. As part of our projects, we collaborate with partners and local communities. The communities involved benefit directly from our programs, as we create a better living environment and contribute to economic development. Our unique approach is a media and communication-based strategy, using all available means of communication and media at local, regional, national and international level. With these sponsored media campaigns, we aspire to amplify the effect of landscape restoration programs, and thus create a landscape restoration movement, promoting regreening across Africa."
A unique and beautiful vision!
"Imagine sub-Saharan Africa in 2030: green, rich and fresh. Imagine being able to inspire and encourage millions of subsistence farmers to restore their degraded land, using proven sustainable land management techniques.
Could you imagine the huge impact this would have on crop yields, household incomes, biodiversity, water availability, regional climate and global climate change? And could it be done, instead of progressing slowly from one region to another, by mobilizing everyone in a single, interconnected, international movement?
"At Justdiggit, our mission is to green Africa over the next decade, and our goal is to inspire and challenge people around the world to join us. "At Justdiggit, our mission is to green Africa over the next decade, and our goal is to inspire and challenge people around the world to join us.
Digging for greenery?
According to a study by The Nature Conservancy, 37% of the global warming problem can be tackled by nature-based solutions . And that's what JUST DIGGIT is all about.
"By digging over 360,000 semicircular dikes, we've managed to bring the vegetation back to life on Kuku's collective ranches, bringing environmental gains and making the land useful to the community once again.
The Kuku group ranches are located in southern Kenya and represent an essential wildlife corridor between Amboseli National Park and Tsavo National Park. The collective ranch is home to around 29,000 Maasai, who depend mainly on the land as a source of income and food.
Due to overgrazing and climate change, the area has become very arid, making it difficult for local communities to live off the land. Working with the local Maasai community and our local partner, the Maasai Wilderness Conservation Trust (MWCT), we have begun to restore this degraded land. By digging rainwater harvesting dykes and creating grass seed reserves, we are re-greening 3834 ha in the area. So far, the Maasai community has dug 369,000 dykes and established seven grass seed reserves, which are managed by five independent women's groups."
