AlphAroma is almost a twin of New Zealand’s Rakau ™. Almost, because of course, it’s not the same terroir—this one originates from Spain—but a twin nonetheless because it’s the closest hop variety. And since Rakau is no longer in production, we’re delighted to be able to offer you a substitute!
Alpharoma was developed in New Zealand in the early 1970s, but commercialized in the early 1980s. The balance of its oils makes it an excellent dual hop, providing a sustained bitterness in addition to well-present aromas.
