Calypso™ was bred in the Yakima Valley region of the USA. Information about Calypso™ isn’t readily available, but it’s known to be widely used as a single hop by many craft breweries. Its high alpha acid content makes it an excellent bittering hop (you’ll also notice its high cohumulone content; if you push it too hard, it’ll pack a serious punch), but its powerful citrus and lime notes also allow it to hold its own as a late addition to your brews; it’s worth noting that it was initially developed for its aromas! It’s an incredibly complex hop with citrus and fruity notes.
