It's Nectaron in terms of power. With a touch of acidity and red fruit.

Description

Superdelic™ (Trial Hop - NZH-102) is a triploid variety (cultivar) that was bred by Dr Ron Beatson in 2012 as part of the breeding program in partnership with Plant and Food Research.

Having performed well in small plot trials and showing red fruit sensory attributes in early brewing trials, it was quickly transferred by the grower committee to the NZ Hops trial farm in 2017. It showed excellent field performance with a vigorous growth pattern, good resistance to mite damage and high yield.

This exceptional hop offers more fun than few others! With red fruit, candy, citrus and tropical fruit characteristics, it offers brewers something totally different to use in their recipes.

"In a Hazy IPA, it revealed its notes of ripe mango, sweet berries and citrus. Superdelic also showed unique performance, with great biotransformation properties from raw hopping during active fermentation. It's an incredible addition to our brewery. We were lucky enough to be among the first to try it," says Mike Sutherland, manager of Sawmill Brewery.

It's a versatile hop that can be used as a single hop addition and shows excellent synergies in combination with other hops. Blends well with Citra, Simcoe, Nelson Sauvin, Motueka and Riwaka.
